Four of us drove
up to Timmins on Sunday which was about 9 hours so we could get rested before
heading to the lodge to start fishing on Monday, after losing my Trailer
Licence plate and the left tail light on the way in we unloaded the Nitro Z6, unpacked
and started to fish. I started out mapping the area I covered and Dad, Pete Sr
and Pete Jr took #3 Pontoon boat out for a test drive to check a few areas out,
after a while I picked Pete Jr up and we where off to explore a new area of the
lake to see what we could catch. We ended up doing ok but it was the Pike and
Smallies that were more active so we chased them thru the day and changed over
to Walleye and Perch after supper to try and cover 4 species to get some bonus
points. Tuesday ended up being a lot better as we started to really figure out
the Pike and did ok on the Smallies too, this had me leading the group at the
end of the day. Wednesday Pete caught a really nice 40” Pike before breakfast
to start the day off right and it just improved from there, Pete ended up with
the higher points and I was second, Thursday would be my day again with 57 Pike,
4 Walleye and 3 Smallies and Pete had 47 Pike, 8 Walleye and a Perch, I had a
pretty good lead in the points race after a gathering in the teepee it was off
to bed and back up at 6am for our last fish of the trip 1 caught 3 pike with 27”
being the biggest and Pete caught 2 before breakfast on Friday and that was it
time to pack and head for home, there was lots of rain and wind with a bit of
sun for the 4 days we were there and it was a Great Time with Great People at
the 1st Annual CFN Retreat Thanx to everybody that was there and
part of a Great Event, See you next year hopefully Tight Lines
