Spinnerbaits caught a few today but more hit the blades then the hook, Crankbaits did ok on the Smallies & I had a few muskies slap at the lures but this one took a Bassmagnet Swimbait, started raining about 2pm for 45 minutes, lots of smaller bass today, a Great Way to end the Summer. Dave had a Pike on & as he set the hook his reel fell off & that didn't workout to good for him at least he didn't lose his reel.

Aug 25-14 Dan & I had a good evening out, not to many pictures taken. Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits & Buzzbaits were working
Aug 26 no partner so I headed out at after 3pm until about 8pm. Crankbaits & Spinnerbaits worked on the Bass
Drop Shotting Bassmagnet Twitch worked good for the Crappie but didn't catch any Bass.
About 11" Crappie not bad for a new lake, likely my biggest.
Aug 27-14 Mitch & I headed out about 3pm
Mitch had Spinnerbaits working.
More Drop Shotting Bassmagnet Twitch.
Aug 28 Crankbaits worked very well with a few coming on Spinnerbaits. No partner again so lots of selfies lol.
1st Gay Lea Foods Kids Fishing Day/Weekend
Lots has happened this summer so far, starting with I brought up the idea of having a Kids fishing day with work & after a bit of discussion I had it approved & was given a budget of $1,000.00 sweet, we had a committee set up & started organizing the 1st Teeswater Gay Lea Foods Kids Fishing Day for Jun 8-14, which was changed into an all weekend event after 1 week, we had 7 trailers/tents on Friday night & 11 on Saturday night, we had Sunday set for a little fishing fun from 11 to 6pm with a bbq from 4 to 6pm, some of us started fishing Friday to try & find panfish for the kids on Sunday, I took both of my boats & a few other took theirs plus Sunday we rented Silver Lake Camps 3 boats, canoe, paddle boats & the participants shared them throughout the day. I was on a shopping trip to buy some tackle (small jigs, hooks & plastics) to hand out when the kids arrived so they had the right size tackle for the panfish, for Prizes we had a variety of tackle packs, tackle box, a few Rod & Reel combos, on Friday & Saturday the kids camping with us got to go out & fish & we had anywhere from 20 to 75 panfish in 1 hour, there was 4 girls under 8 & they caught 75 panfish in 1.25 hours, the weather was perfect all weekend & we ended up with 85 participants with over 35 kids a very successful weekend & plans are being made for the 2nd annual kids fishing day/weekend next year. Some of the kids were even tubing behind 1 of the boats. The BBQ was Porkchops, Chicken, Hamburgs & Hotdogs with all the trimmings, Salad, Cake, chips, soft drinks etc. There was a nice crew of adults that stepped up to BBQ & set-up & take down everything that needed to be done for the meal.
A huge success Thanx for anyone that helped pull it off.

A great evening 4 hours & about 40 Smallies
One of the better days that I've had in a while & likely one of Mitch's best ever, lots of 18" & 19" smallies with a few 20", we covered lots of water & Mitch caught most of his on Spinnerbaits, mine came on 2 different Spinnerbaits, 3 Crankbaits, Bassmagnet Tubes & Drop Shotting Slammers, there was a little bit of thunder just as we got out, then enough rain that we put the rain coats on for about 3/4 of an hour, a little sprinkle as we were loading the boat with rain & Sheet lightning on the way home perfect night.
Tight Lines.
