Multi Species days can be FUN keep changing it up

Wednesday and Thursday was a couple multi species days with lots of Crappie being caught, we had one spot that had 15' of Crappie on the screen in 30'+ water that I should've taken a picture of too.

This is how I got the skunk out of the boat today

Bit of a surprise today, I seen a few marks on the bottom in 30' of water I dropped a Football Jig down with no takers so I dropped a BladeBait down and watched it hit bottom as I went to lift it there was weight on the line so I set hard with no movement and I thought damn I have a rock and then it started to pull and I couldn't stop it so the hook pulled out, 2nd drop nothing and 3rd drop another fish and this Carp was hooked in the mouth lol I've never caught one like this but I'll take it and had a good fight getting it up to the boat. This Blade Bait has caught a lot of nice fish, Pike, Bass, Walleye and now a Carp before the Zebra Mussels got it, I'll be buying a few more when I find them.

A little nicer out today and less wind as well

Another couple hours late afternoon today put a couple nice Largemouth Bass in the boat and lost another right at the boat while grabbing the net, I guess I should've boat flipped it in lol. I hit 1 point and then started shallow with a Chatterbait the boat was in 3.5' of water and casting shallower. I mixed in a Flipp'n Jig and a Football Jig with no success and tried them deep as well as a Bladebait with no takers. Looks like the Crappie are starting to school up, I found a couple schools but didn't try for them.

Gorgeous Day Out

Another day off, another few hours on the water

It was a little wet out there today but the fishing was ok, I drove over fish heading to where I wanted to start and ended up going back to where I marked them. I dropped a Bladebait down and set the hook on the Smallmouth Bass. I caught my first Largemouth of the day on the Bladebait as well and then tried a Flipp'n Jig and a Football Jig before grabbing a Chatterbait and catching the rest of my Largemouth Bass up shallow. Each time I'm out lately almost seems like I loose the coin flip do I start Deep or Shallow lol.

This was found on a rock when a Father and Son was out Fishing a Native Lamprey

This was found in the upper Teeswater River in an area that sea lamprey are very much excluded from.  Denny’s dam is a lamprey barrier at the mouth of the Saugeen and then there is another significant barrier at Cargill on the Teeswater that should prevent any hitchhiking sea lamprey from accessing. So under those circumstances that would lead me to believe this is a native lamprey. So it could be either Silver or Northern Brook. It is not likely a Silver as they need to go down to the lake to feed and then come back to spawn, so it is likely a Northern Brook Lamprey but there is no way to be sure. Keep Your Eyes and Ears open when you're in the outdoors you never know when you'll see or hear something special, they live in a healthy system.

What are you throwing in water this color on Lake Huron

I started out fishing for Pike but there wasn't anything moving around or showing any sign so I switched it up and started looking for Smallmouth Bass, Quad Blade (REJ) Spinnerbait working to find Smallies but I needed to find cleaner water this wind and rain dirtied the lake up just a bit lol. Started out throwing a Chatter Bait and switched up before catching anything. The sky started getting pretty dark about 5:00 and I called it quits before the rain started.

Always a good day when you're on the water

Took a few hours to wet a line and caught a few different species, we started out with Panfish catching Crappie, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill and Perch before chasing a few Largemouth that were caught at the end of the day in 3 casts at 17:32, 17:33 and 17:35 on a Flipp'n Jig, someone might have been mad at me lol.
