Stopped for a few cast on the way home from Kincardine yesterday

I picked up these little chatter baits at Sail on the way to the Muskies Canada KW meeting and thought I'd give them a try off the dock and caught a couple #Crappie and a #Rockbass they seem to work nice coming thru the water.

Port Elgin St Joseph School Chinook Salmon released and a bit of fishing

I was too busy to take pictures getting the 36 #ChinookSalmon that they raised into small buckets to let the student release one Chinook Salmon each and then another they were pretty excited to release them and saw a few crawfish a long the boat launch as well then it was off to the town pond to try fishing for the #BrookTrout #BrownTrout and Rainbows before heading back to school.

Teeswater's 2 School Chinook Salmon Classroom Hatcheries

I stopped in yesterday to Hillcrest and Sacred Heart School's and the #ChinookSalmon have grown so big, the students are so excited and disappointed for the program to end for this year. This is a really good way to #GetKidsHookedOnFishing 6 months of helping to take care of their pet fish in the #ClassroomHatchery they have so many stories and most of them have names.

Grand Daughters having FUN with Catch And Release

Arrietty's 1st fish ever was a #Crappie and I caught a surprise #Pike before we were done. Small jig with plastic and 4lb test mono with no net lol. It was cool and a little windy but everyone had FUN and that's all that matters. Likely caught a couple dozen #Crappie in just over an hour.

This is our last School with Brown Trout being Raised this year

These are some nice sized #BrownTrout that they have for over 3 weeks still before I go pick them up and the Class takes a trip to the Kincardine #TroutHatchery where we raise about 80,000 #BrownTrout, the eggs normally arrive in December by courier and we release most of them the next November and keep a couple tanks full for release the next April or May and 110,000 #RainbowTrout eggs that usually get collected in April at Denny's Dam at the Southampton fish ladder and get released the next April or May when they are yearlings,

60 Kids 3 Grade 1 Classes have a Hatchery Tour Lighthouse Museum Tour and go Fishing

Started out at the Kincardine Brown/Rainbow Trout Hatchery and split into 2 groups with one starting at the #TroutHatchery with a #Hatcherytour and the other had a #LightHose #Museum tour, they were over an hour at the lighthouse which gave the other group time to play at the #RotaryPark then they switched and toured the other one, they were a little longer that they thought as the whole group went to the top of the lighthouse to have a look over the harbor/lake. Then it was back on the bus to head to Silver Lake for a bit of #Fishing with a bunch of kids catching 5 or more #Panfish #Crappie #Perch lots of people Thanked us for organizing this for their kids. there were a lot of parents driving and they said they learned a lot at the Hatchery Tour about raising the #BrownTrout #RainbowTrout and #ChinookSalmon, I showed them our #InvasiveSpecies #RoundGobies #Alewives and #SeaLamprey and everyone liked the 2 headed Chinook Salmon that we have as part of our samples to show when we have a tour. I explained about collecting the eggs, fertilizing the eggs, picking out the dead ones and recording them, moving them from the tray's to the small tanks then the intermediate tanks, counting and sorting them and picking out the dead fish and recording them, Fin Clipping the Rainbow Trout and why we do it, netting and transporting them to be released as per our license. then cleaning the tanks before starting all over again.

AWESOME way to end the long weekend catching 6 species

After working the weekend it was time to head to the lake today and we caught #Crappie #Rockbass, #Bluegill #Pumpkinseed and #Perch on a cool day with some pretty good wind gusts, with the sun out it felt nice until we were out in the wind and then it cooled down pretty quick, so we'd head for a shoreline with a bit of protection from the wind. The Rock bass were pretty fat and starting to get ready to spawn and the Bluegill, Pumpkinseed and Crappie won't be far behind.

Took an hour to get some fish scent on my hands and clothes

I first cast caught a Crappie and many more in a row, nothing big but there were lots around #Crappie #Pumpkinseed #Sunfish #Perch there should be lots of #Panfish around for the weekend warriors, , caught a couple dozen or more in just over an hour, small jigs and plastic with a bit of scent helped to get them to commit. With this warming weather there should be lots of  action if anyone is thinking about getting kids out.

Just a bit of a fatty

I caught about 2 dozen gobies and lost one about this size caught 2 small #Perch and this big momma. Thought it was time to head home after the waves kept coming over the nose of the Nitro Z6 lol.
