This is how you get kids hooked on fishing raising Salmon or Trout in their Classroom Hatcheries, Getting Kids Hooked On Fishing

I arrived at the school at 08:30 to get the Chinook Salmon ready to go on a trip to Kincardine to be released and hopefully return in 3 or 4 years to spawn. Each school has an Aquarium set up with a chiller to keep the temperature about 10c or 50f ish, the #Chinook #Salmon eggs arrive at the #SchoolHatchery in November usually. They hatch at the school and absorb their egg sack and come to the swim up stage it's time to start feeding them. They will have to start syphoning the waste food and poop off the bottom and add chemicals to help keep the ammonia and pH levels consistent and the tank healthy. After the bus arrived at Kincardine the Students were able to release 1 Chinook Salmon each into the river then they had a quick snack before a #TroutHatchery tour. We started in the office where the fish mounts are hanging on the walls, there are #Smallmouth #Bass #Walleye not Pickerel lol #LakeTrout a 36lb+ #ChinookSalmon #Musky #BrookTrout #RainbowTrout #BrownTrout #Muskie #esox #Gar and #Pike they saw about 110,000 Rainbow #Trout eggs

that were collected from the #SaugeenRiver fish ladder at #DennysDam and in December the MNRF sent us about 80,000 Brown Trout eggs by courier. After this they walked over to the Lighthouse Museum for a history lesson and a guided tour  before walking back to the Rotary Park to have a Picnic lunch and play on the playground and outside musical instruments before getting on the bus to head back to the school. The weather cooperated to make for a perfect trip.
