The day started with me stopping at the school to pick up their 41 #ChinookSalmon from the #ClasssroomHatchery in Arran-Elderslie Elementary School in Tara and then I met the bus full of 2 classes to release their #Salmonat the Southampton boat launch before heading to the #LakeHuronFishingClub port Elgin #ChinookSalmonHatcheryfor a tour and talk about the 110,000 Chinook Salmon in 2 tanks and Rainbow Trout in 1 of the other tanks before heading over to the town pond to have lunch and to fish for some Speckle/Brook Trout before heading back to school. There were a bunch of parent volunteers that drove and helped out with the whole day and there were some nice #BrookTrout or #SpeckleTrout depending on what you call them. The day started out cold but by the time we were #Fishing there were some of the students in t-shirts, the sun was out and the trees around protected the whole area from the wind, once everyone was fishing I went and got a container of food to let the kids feed the fish in the pond before they headed out.
